The
main products are Wide Range Aerosol Samplers, WRAS. These samplers enable
the size range of particles collected to be extended down to 2 nanometers.
Given that health risk is influenced by the size of airborne particles,
it is important to collect particles of different sizes into different
containers (substrates). Our WRAS samplers provide the widest size range
and the best performance for particulate collection.
The
technology applied in WRAS systems offers considerable advantages over
conventional samplers and provide better performance, higher resolution
and lower prices. To

WRAS
systems offer the following general benefits:
- The widest
size range of aerosol particles to be sampled selectively according
to their size (from 2 nm to 100 micrometer, µm)
- The lowest
price on the market
- Customer
tailored design and performance (size range of particles, number of
size sections and flow rate of your choice)
- Low power
consumption (nano-particle sampling does not require low pressure pumping)
- User friendly
operations (there is no need for special training)
- Robust
design
- Very low
pressure drop that allows for sampling in humid air as well as in environments
closer to saturated vapour pressure.
- No condensation
of water vapour and other saturated compounds in the sampling system
- A choice
of substrates (particle collecting media) that suits any application
- A wide
range of sampling flow rates from 5 l/min to 1,000 l/min
- A WRAS
sampling system can be employed on any stationary, moving or elevated
platform
- Technical
support by a team of highly trained specialists
- Sampling
under controlled humidity to replicate deposition conditions in the
human lung.

The
image above shows a typical WRAS unit. It
includes a battery powered versatile timer, digital flow meter,
case with sound insulation of the pump noise, inertial and diffusion
units mounted on anti-vibration stands.
|
The
image above shows how a WRAS system can also be assembled in a portable
carry case. This one includes humidity control.
|
N.B. The
personal system is battery powered.
WRAS units
are also available without the nano particle collector. So, if the relevant
particle size is larger than 0.25 µm,
they can be collected using a system comprising only inertial deposition,
as in the WRAS unit below:
